VERY interesting. Sloss is haunted from WAY back. Have lots of friends that live in Birmingham, and so did my mother. Even back in the 50's there was talk of hauntings there.

Those scratches are very interesting. I've seen them show up before, in various locations, as well as burn marks that appear to be electrical in nature, more than heat-related. And that would make a certain amount of sense.

My husband and I investigated with Brian (Celtic), at SLOSS

There are evps, that seemed to show, that it was a female ghost, that scratched Brian. I saw the scratches in person - and they were clearer in person.. it was amazing.

Now, there WAS provoking that night. I saw some provoking, before the scratches happened to Brian. This provoking was NOT by Brian, so it is too bad that he had to get the effects. I saw the scratches on Brians back, and they were more clear in person - they were not from human hands.


The workers of SLOSS were hard working men that worked there. It was one step from slave labor, and these men were tough as nails. If someone provokes them, what do you expect them to do? Same for the woman who worked there... they too, had to be TOUGH.

I have investigated SLOSS twice, at night, once with Brian, and once prior. During my first investigation there, I saw two miners in the tunnel. At first, I thought they were fellow investigators, until they floated at a lightening pace, and came face to face with me. I was pushed down, to the ground. We have a EVP, that said "MOVE", that was recorded, just before I fell.

If you look idle, or move slowly at SLOSS, you may be pushed.... and that's not because they are angry, they are just working hard, and you are in the way lol

For anyone going to SLOSS, make sure to think good thoughts, before going into SLOSS, and say a protection prayer. Also, make sure that everyone in your team knows that they should treat the good hard-working spirits with respect.

living 10 minutes from Sloss and knowing the history the place takes on a real spooky feel in the fall. if ever in Birmingham take the free tour it is worth it. I believe Ghost Lab is doing an investigation this April...I will be there!!!!

Excellent post. I do not know much about the history of Sloss Furnace, but this intrigues me enough to warrant some research of the place.

Were there any other occurrences that evening?
