Does anyone know why spirits stand in the corners of rooms? During a family discussion we talked about knowing people who during their last hours prior to death often stared at the corners of the rooms they were in. A friend of my moms kept asking her if she saw the person in the room as she looked at the corner. My brother right before he passed kept looking at the corner of the room as if to be looking at someone. My dog often will stare at the corner of a room and start growling. I am just curious if anyone else has had this experience and what their thoughts are.

Possibly because it's the area of space least likely to be occupied by the living? It's a space where they can observe, yet not be disturbed? I have often thought about this as well.

A couple weeks before my Dad passed away, he told us that my one uncle (his brother that died about 20 yrs. ago) was sitting in one of the chairs of his room. What he seen wasn't in the corner but I think it's similiar. It's my belief that before we pass on, a loved one comes back to guide us to our next spiritual destiny. Maybe some of the loved ones that come back prefer to stand in the background while others (like my uncle) want to be right there amoungst the living.

My belief is that the "good" ones aren't the ones hiding in the corners. Guides and messengers will mingle, but the devious ones tend to lurk.

When my daughter was a baby, she was always looking into the corner and talking and laughing to someone. It was high up in the corner though, by the ceiling.

That's an interesting thought vstar! I wont venture a guess as to what exactly spirits are, but if you look at various types of evidence, you get the idea that there are distinct personalities related to different incidents.
