Here's a website where you can make it official. Get Board Certified and/or Registered now as an Investigator, Researcher, or Practitioner. Paranormal colleagues from around the world are coming to upgrade or obtain their credentials for worldwide peer and public recognition and to validate their authenticity as a professional in paranormal. I never went to college but now but i have been hunting ghosts for many years now. It looks like i can now get that degree i always wanted. Here's the link...... www.boardofparanormal.com/

I don't understand how that website can claim "scientific authenticity" to the field of paranormal? Nothing in the paranormal field has any basis in science. Everything is general guesswork and "theory". There are no standard protocols, methodologies, or technology that is strictly for the paranormal. I say "buyer beware" for this. Whatever they "teach" could probably be found in a number of books about the paranormal. In this economy, people can't afford throwing away their hard earned money for a worthless piece of paper.

I was thinking the same thing. Why waste your money. Who are these people to clam they know more about the paranormal then anyone else. I'm just mad at myself not to come up with this first. ($) wink wink

In my opinion, the best way to educate ourselves about the paranormal (the unknown) is to research what is known. Such as the sciences (like physics, biochemistry, and psychology), photography, and audio technology. There's no need to learn (and pay for) opinions from self proclaimed "experts". We have everything we need available for free by using our local library and our brains.

($) wink wink Yeah, but the money-making possibilities are what's taking the field down just at the very time it should be taking off. This degree thing is obviously a waste of time and money, as you guys are pointing out. What's next? A Ghost Hunters Kit and Degree from Walmart? Seriously, think about it. Businesses that are supposedly haunted. Magic parlour tricks being pawned off as genuine paranormal activity. Now Michael Jackson's house is haunted too (probably to boost record sales). It's sad. Thanks for making the post. If someone wants a degree to back them up, they may do better with a BA in Electrical Engineering or something.

I agree. The subject of the paranormal (especially where ghosts are concerned) is turning into business (financial) ventures instead of zoning in on actual *research*.

Sorry guys, but this field will just have to continue to be under-paid and amateur! Lol. Most people do it to satisfy an interior need to figure it out rather than money anyway. I do find that the more I learn about the natural world, the more I have an appreciation of what lies outside those boundaries.
