A written account of a mutual experience of BPI co-founders

Paranormal experiences in a converted River Rouge Michigan Bakery.
In the 1993 we moved into a very small economy apartment in River Rouge Michigan, a suburb on the southern border of Detroit. Little did we know we would have such vivid and memorable experiences while living there.
Our apartment was very small consisting of a living room kitchen combination that measure about 15 foot wide by 20 foot long and a bedroom that also measured about the same, but there was a walk in closet that ran the length of the bedroom making it much narrower. Our king size bed basically took up the whole room. When you got out of bed you had to step through the door into the living room. The building was actually the River Rouge Bakery from the early 1900s converted into three apartments. The front of the ground floor was what used to be the bakery store area. The rear of the ground floor was our small apartment that was originally the kitchen of the former bakery. You could still see where the chimneys from the ovens went through the wall and outside the building. The upper floor was taken up by the current building owner and by far the largest of the apartments.
One night we were having one of those Southeastern Michigan thunderstorms that filled the air with lightning and electricity. Ericka was about 7 months along with our first child and could not find a comfortable position to sleep in. She sat up in bed and saw a man standing in our living room/kitchen. She nudged me awake and was startled by this man who had obviously entered our apartment. As I focused in the direction that she was frantically pointing I saw a man standing in our apartment wearing a rain slicker and fedora. I remember the blue light that engulfed the room from the lightning outside. He was dripping wet and the flashes of lightning were reflecting off his rain soaked slicker and water was running off the brim of his hat I said “WHO IS THAT?” I sprang to my feet and advanced on the intruder to defend my lady and my home. As I left the end of our bed and past through the doorway, the intruder just vanished into thin air !!!! Over the next few months, we spent a lot of time talking about this very unusual experience. We came to the conclusion that the “Intruder” belonged in the building. We began to refer to him in conversation and Invited him to show himself again. He never showed himself again as a full body apparition……..But he did show himself again!!!!!!!
Sometime after that, Ericka and I were having a energetic “Debate“ while sitting on the couch in the small living room area in our apartment. Just as the debate had become more verbally abusive. A small blue ball of light flew out of the dry goods pantry in our kitchen area and zig-zag across the room very quickly as if to catch our eye. When we both noticed it, The zig-zag course turned at us and the ball of light collided into
The back of the couch right in between us and disappeared. To say that it ended our disagreement would be an understatement. We concluded that the presence did not appreciate our verbal conflict. This entity never became malicious or disrespectful. Our belief that people pass away, but they are still people led us to believe that this presence was just trying to co-exist with us in a building that he had one been tied to in life. We don’t believe that this entity was interfering with us but rather trying to stay out of our way and just wanted to announce his presence to us when we saw him as a full body and was disagreeing with our argument by showing himself as a light entity at a precise moment. We believe there was only one entity that was responsible for both experiences. It was intelligent and willing to co-exist with us while we resided there
