in Cannon Falls, MN is where this pic was taken. Cannot explain it whatsoever... It's such a pretty mist! Love the coloring! We also "captured" many evps out here...we're going back someday!

THAT is what I keep telling people...ONCE IN A WHILE, you get a shot that so obviously is NOT smoke or breath that you get a cold chill. This is one of those shots. One of the things that I really notice about this is that the focus of the flash is NOT on the mist, but the center of the mist is lit, and seems to be lit from within. If it were flash reflection, the light should have been brighter on the RIGHT side of the mist, NOT the center and far left.

I have to dismiss photos of mists like this because they can be explained away by skeptics as smoke or breath. The only person who can say for sure whether it was smoke or breath is the person taking the picture. Even then, if it's breath, the person taking the picture may not even be aware that they are taking a picture of their own breath because we breath without thinking.
To me this looks like smoke. It looks like it's lit in the center because the highest concentration of smoke is there in the center. Therefore the light from the flash is going to reflect off that part where the most concentrated form of smoke is, making it appear to be self illuminating when it's not.

I may or may not agree with you, depending on where the camera was being held when the picture was taken. IF it was at eye level, then this mist is too high to be smoke or breath. HOWEVER, if the person was just holding the camera at chest or waist level, then it becomes a very real possibility. I'm still thinking that the flash angle is wrong to hit the center like that, tho. Small point. ~GRIN~ We could argue details all day and never reach a consensus. SO...I'll amend to...vote is now out, dunno where that camera was held.

I don't believe it matters that much where the camera was held. Whether it was smoke or breath, once it leaves the mouth it doesn't stay in once spot, hang in the air, then disappears. Once smoke or breath leaves the mouth, depending, the force it's being blown out of the mouth, the humidity in the air, and wind if any at all, will either linger in the vicinity then slowly float away/disappear, rise into the air, or even get blown away with the wind.

It will always be in this field and believe me i experience a lot of paranormal stuff that nobody will tell me is not real...but there will always be skeptics and believers that will debate things forever. I really came here to learn more from both sides of the stories... I really like the comments made here Lady V...i respect your knowledge of what you say and i def can learn from someone like you...and i can see the picture and it looks real to me...but i am not there..i guess we all must be very aware when we take pictures and doing evps...i have been guilty of whispering sometimes during them and thats a no no. thanx everyone for all the comments..we may not have all the answers or know everything...but i am def!!! learning.

Thank you for your kind words. As I stated in the Meet and Greet section, I am not an investigator, however, I do believe in the paranormal and have had my own paranormal experiences. At the same time I believe in trying to rule out all normal reasons for such experiences before giving it a label of paranormal. I believe that labeling every piece of dust, insect, smoke, breathe, or matrixing as paranormal will do more harm to the cause than anything else. No one likes a fanatic no matter what the cause is.
