I watch Paranormal State for a good laugh. It's all about Catholicism vs. the Demons with that show. It's a bit too Exorsist for me, even though I'm a huge fan of the movie. I want real paranormal investigation not the hyped up seemingly staged BS that Paranormal state has to offer. The only person I have respect for that's associated with Paranormal state is Michelle Belanger. Actually she lost a little respect from me when she joined with them.

I agree with you 100% good for a laugh I am not a fan and proud to say so - (Sadly I've had some issues on line with voicing my opinion on other boards about this show Paranormal State which in my opinion is over edited and over the top in so many ways-where rabid fans attacked me threatening me- ) -- to the point where Chip himself contacted me over it- claiming he can't control his fans and apologized for them BTW I never said anything about Chips "abilities" real or not (in fact I actually think he is the most humorous part of the show ) All I had posted was just how scripted and edited the show appeared to me and thought it should have a disclaimer at the beginning saying that it is Fiction - Ive also pointed out that I am six episode is almost word for word a carbon copy of Emily Rose - it is laughable - anyone that thinks that was real just research her- find the original tapes not the movie and compare to "i am six" other than the real case being in German -not much difference

I'm with you guys. I watch it, but it comes under the heading of "trainwreck tv" for me. Once you see it, you just...keep looking, hoping that somehow it will get better. And like you, PS, I like Chip. I've seen him other places where his talent is much better presented.
LadyV, I also agree with you on Michelle Belanger. She first hit my radar on a special about psychic vampires, and I immediately like her very down-to-earth, no-nonsense, non-goth approach to who and what she it. I flat liked HER. Not sure what she is doing with this show. But I'd think better if she left it.

Not a big fan of the show either. I will stick to GH and GHI.

...since they come from Christain viewpoint, they seem to paste every negative energy with a demon label. I still watch it, but not as much as the other para shows

I started to watch it but when it started to be about this demon following Ryan...I kinda raised an eyebrow. That seemed a little too Hollywood for my taste lol.

I have to agree with you all. Our entire group gets a good chuckle out of that show. To each his own I guess, but its just not the way we do things. The whole demon thing just seemed like they were reaching for ratings.

They rarely show what their "investigation" reveals. What is all that equipment for? So it appears as if you are doing something scientific? The team may be serious about what they do but what is shown is a joke. In all fairness I don't see how anyone can ag ree to do a paranormal TV show and maintain their professional integrity. Producers want ratings and don't care what they have to do to get them. These paranormal investigators have to be selling out to a certain degree just by agreeing to do a TV show. Remember true reality shows do not exist.

I have to agree this program is pretty much laughable as a creditable scientific research team. In a way doing a TV show may be a bit "selling out" as I'm sure there is some influence by the network even on the best of shows. On the other hand by doing a show the team can raise funds to purchase better equipment and visit more interesting sites than they could without the producers support. I think it may be sometimes difficult to maintain integrity and standards when faced with a producer with a agenda and a hand full of cash.
