nobody else is talking but... I saw it. It's scary, sure, but I wouldn't say it's "as scary as they say". And I despised the ending, to be honest. I would have liked one of the original endings, better. If you do see it, if you get motion sickness, take something for it before you go. My friends had to leave ten minutes in because they were getting sick.

I thought it was competly boring. Not scary at all. Unless watching 2 people pretend to sleep and a noise here and there interests you, Don't bother.

I have to agree with TheDmac....boring as all get out. Think Blair Witch set inside. There is nothing in the movie that even comes close to being scary. And you need to have problems with your short term memory cause after the first or even second times something happens, you learn that they play this low hum track leading up to anything happening at all. And trust me, nothing happens. Now I have seen the original version without the humming and different ending. There was a few things cut out of the new movie too that were in it, and it was a far better movie that way. But still, anyone with a few days free and some video editing could make this movie, and maybe do it better.

I saw this movie, and was not too thrilled with it at all.... I know the director filmed it all at his own house, not a big budget to start with, I know alot liked the low budget effects and sounds, but I was disappointed.... some liked it and some didn't all a matter of opinion I suppose

REDNECK REVUE: "Paranormal Activity" or "Love Bites a Stink Pickle"...
By Skeeter Jones
Hey Y'All;
Well the whole Down in the Holler Trailer Park got in various vehicles of running, (and non running) condition to check out the new movie "Paranormal Activity". Cousin Stinky got the party bus goin' again, and we all piled inside with our snacks and stuff, if you know what I mean....
So we all pulled up in front of the ol' movie house. Dee Wayne brought out her pickled pigs feet, but by the time she tried to sneak the jar in, it fell out from underneath her dress, and smashed onto the floor. She got pissed, and the Sheriff escorted herthe double doors. He shoulda used a forklift to get her out the doors, but he had to learn the hard way... Cousin Stinky tried to sneak in the white lightnin', but almost got busted. He claimed the sour mash was for cleanin' up the rank smell from DeeWayne's feet, and I mean that literally. We saw some familiar faces in the crowd as we entered. We yelled at them "Hey how Y'All doin'", and they reponded, "how's it going, eh?" as they ran up to the back of the movie house just under the projection room.
We were awatchin' previews when this disclaimer suddenly appeared. That the Paramount people wished to thank the families and officers of the San Diego Police Department. Well, how better to thank a police officer than a dozen Krispy Kremes and a Thermos of coffee?....Sorry Cousin Bigg Jim....
Now this movie suddenly appeared, and started off the gitgo as a "Blair Witch Project" meets "The Ring" meets "Cloverfield" meets "Quarrantine". The two main characters was Micah and Katie (ala Blair Witch, eh?) who were plagued by "paranormal activity" So it opens when Micah gets a video camera to "document" what was going on. At this point, I had to take a Drammamine with two brewskies I had snuck in with just to keep from errupting like Mount St. Helens with my barley and hops with the damn camera movement. I mean, o.k. Blair Witch was a one time shot, let the crap die fer God's sake...Up and down, all around, out of focus. Where in the Hell did they find this cameraman? Earl Scheib's? I mean, this assclown would paint a car better for $99.95, than he did doing videography, or whatever you call it...Does this poor douchebag have a medical problem like foot or jok itch problems? Does he have the crabs (the one's you can't put Old Bay Seasoning on...)? If he had a couple shots of Cousin Stinky's moonshine, he would have had steadier hands than that...I heard that Paramount was so cheap, that they were picking up the bums off the streets who said they will "work for food" and gave them liquid "Happy Meals"....
Throughout this whole movie (which was filmed in 2007), it had four characters seen on film. Now we see as the activity is recorded over numerous days, and it increases. Micah the amateur "ghost chaser" decides to provoke, and bring in a Ouija board. When they leave the house, the demon plays with it, and sets it on fire. Here's a news flash...if the board caught fire, wouldn't the house too? And when they are haunted like these two, why did they sleep so sound when they went to bed. I mean, I would have had all the lights on, had Ol' Blue in the bedroom with me along with my trusty LAR Grizzly chambered in .50 Action Express!
Since this was a supposed case that took place in 2006, and the Dr. Friedrichs they called into help them eventually said he had to leave (ran out like a scared schoolgirl who tore her Easter dress), and the demonologist they needed was out of the country, why didn't they just look on the Internet for ANOTHER DEMONOLOGIST? Ever heard of the Warrens, John Zaffis, Ken Deel, or numerous other credible folks?
And here is a shocker, since they didn't leave, one of them gets possessed by the demon. Wow, I did like the powder scene with the footprints and shadows. Even the foot pulling down the hallway.
Here is the score from ol' Skeeter, zero belches from a six pack. And this film will be up as a favorite to win the REDNECK REVUE's "Stink Pickle Award". Predictable scary scenes, thin boredom, poor camera work, poor thought into the storyline, and the stupid blackout at the end to "keep you in your seats" as the movie concluded. Might be fun for a 16 year old to take his girl on a date to see her poop her panties. But this movie couldn't scare a true paranormal investigator...
Now if you want to find out who survives, scroll down below the warning. Save your money, and see another movie, or eat at a good chow palace somewhere. But you want to see, well here it is... Otherwise have a good 'un....
You have been warned! If we had known, I would have preferred to have seen "Zombieland", or watch the moths come from that jar that Bob and Doug had, wait! And there they go! Look Mr. Moviehouseownerdude! We want our money back...and now! Maybe even Paramout Pictures, or even the San Diego Police Department can give us a refund! And I don't take donuts as down payment. Sorry Bigg Jim.....
SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOLIER ALERT!
O.K. now that you have been warned for the final time and still want to waste your money, here it all is...
Katie is seen when she was in the bed scene after her encounter after being bit by the demon. Micah finally wants to leave, and she says it will be alright now. And she sinisterly smiles. We see as they are in the bedroom again, and the covers pull bak. Katie gets out of the bed, watches as Micah's covers come back, and walks around to his side of the bed. She then goes downstairs, where she screams. Micah, who was sleeping soundly, gets up and runs downstairs in the dark. Then you see Micah flying through the open bedroom doorway and hit the videocamera. Katie gets down on all fours, straddles Micah like a wolf on a deer, and sniffs him to see if he is alive. Then Katie moves toward the camera with a strange look, shows her new demon fangs, and lunges at the camera. The End. Then there was another claim that she disapperared, and was never found. And the screen went black. Scary? Don't think so...
So not to let the movie finally get the best of him, Cousin Stinky jumped up, pointed and yelled out, "That biatch is right down there two rows in front of me!". People were screaming, an old man threw his Coke at her, popcorn was aflyin' People were running fer the exits...
So if you go see this craptrap of a movie, and I warned you, at least wait until that moment, and try this stunt if you wish. But remember, to wear a mouthgaurd. You might wind up eating your shoe. Be sure to bring your favorite condiments fer that one.....
So I am goin' to bed. Time to paint the inside of my eyelids with a brush and roller there....maybe I can get a job painting cars at Earl Scheib's.....
As Always, Have a Good 'Un.....

This needs to be moved to the Movie Section. BTW It was entertaining but definately NOT reality. The chic's boyfriend was a douche, she was a dummy and the psychic was a fake. Seriously...lol. The only thing that was actually good were the sounds of this thing going up the steps , into the room and hallway. Those things DO happen but the rest was eh....pfft. I HATED the ending. Very cheesy. Just my 2 cents though.

I actually found the movie very scary. Although I didn't like the ending at all. I think they could have done a much better job with that. I think if you've gone through major bedroom ghost type scares in your life you may find this more scary than someone who hasn't. Just a thought anyways.

When it comes on Cable I would not even watch this joke of a movie. I think that this movie gives the Real Paranormal investigators and the Paranormal a bad name. It was so fake and I was bored by the whole thing. I wish that someone would make a movie that really deals with the Paranormal and how real it just is!

I waited till the movie came out on video to see it. I didn't think the movie itself was very scary, however did jumped at a couple of parts and I didn't care for the ending. But for some reason later that night when I went to bed, I did have the heebie jeebies... I think the part that scared me the most when she was just standing over the bed for hours....

Put it though your surround sound and then you'll JUMP. Nearly blew my sub woofer. But takes to long for something to happen. we had a few people over and everybody was falling asleep. Until the sound system kicked in. WOW. I give it maybe 1 and a half. Out of 5 stars.

The one thing I kept thinking to myself when I sat through it was it was a great teaching tool to show people how easy it would be to fake evidence. They worked on a shoestring budget and basically reproduced EVERY crappy video I've ever seen on Youtube.
I couldn't really even rate this movie as I don't really see see it as a movie so much as a very long Youtube video. It was just awful.
