Yes I have seen every show and its ok. I like how they check the evp's right then and there. I think they put a new spin on things by not going completely dark on their investigations.

Before the television popularization of the paranormal field, most investigations were carried out with some kind of visible lighting. Because of camera media used and also you wanted to put yourself in the client’s environment. How often have you had a client say that they sit around in the dark and see apparitions. In the 60’s and 70’s lighting was needed because of the video cameras we used 8mm and 16mm film.

Not to mention that 95% of all experiences happen during the daylight hours or at night with the lights on. A very small percentage are reported in total darkness.
Doesn't seem to make much sense to wait until midnight and turn the lights out to Ghost Hunt if the experiences are happening at another time, in a lighted situation? Well, TV is designed to capture and hold an audience more than do things correctly I guess.

I was interviewed recently about "Lights on investigations". Most paranormal teams do not realize the advantages of this.

Have to admit, I enjoy this show too. I really like their self-contained lab/trailer. Great idea.

I've kind of shied away from the tv shows, but try to give the new ones their day in court at least once before changing the channel. I caught the first episode and found it laughable at best. Sure, they have a cool RV and tons of great equipment, but for the most part it's just smoke and mirrors. Having bigger and better doesn't increase the chance of getting bigger and better evidence.
Good for entertainment, but seriously lacking in their understanding of the equipment and it's limitations and the results they gather with it. And the playing with a full band just made me go, "huh?".

I like the show as much as the others. Only for entertainment. As far as lights out, dose not everyone know that its text book that spirits need it to be dark to manifest? ( That is a Joke!). For one spirits do not manifest. 2. The only reason I can see for going totally dark is the reaction in the atmosphere which surrounds spirit movement can be noticed more in the dark, rather than in the light. Although going dark with laser beams shooting out of your camera bouncing off a wall into glass pained pictures and so forth can cause many false positives while filming or taking photographs. So I would say low light investigations are the way to go. Going completely dark is not needed.

I agree. I personally try to investigate as closely to the time the client reports stuff happening, day, night, whenever.

I have seen a few episodes of Ghost Lab.......I really like the lights on approach and that they are not ready to jump on the "I found a Ghost" bandwagon......I hope they have much success and not get caught up in the "Hollywood" fabrications that some of the other shows seem to have pursued.
