Anyone else watch Destination Truth? What do you think? I personally love the show and think Josh Gates is great. Granted I think some of the things they search for are a bit hokey but the show is interesting. I also love seeing the other countries and the various cultures.

Love Destination Truth. I agree that some of the things they look for are a bit "out there", but overall it is very entertaining. Josh Gates is a great host and investigator- I love the cynical humor.

I think Josh is funny as heck, and would watch just about any show he was host of. Destination Truth is a lot of fun. Anyone know when/if it's coming back?

DT is a good show. Remember that there is a difference between a "ghost hunter" and a "paranormal investigator", a true PI will research and investigate ANYTHING that is unexplained.. So what they are trying to investigate on DT is just showing thier range of involvement into the unknowns of the paranormal... We at TNSpirits are currently researching "bigfoot" sighting throughout Tennessee aswell as UFO sightings, it keeps things fresh and interesting.... But as I said, DT is a fun show to watch.....

Whoah, TNSC...I have to disgree on terms just a bit. But just a bit. Saying that a "true PI" will investigate anything is, to ME, like saying a "true doctor" will treat any disease. There are general practitioners and specialists in BOTH fields, but if you scientifically investigate hauntings, you're a PI in my book. I reserve the term "ghost hunter" for people who are basically into it for the thrill/scare factor.

I agree to a certain degree. DR's are trained in specific fields of medicines, you have "specialists" of internal medicine, general practitioners and surgeons to name a few. Its the same with what we do, you have your "ghost hunters", UFOlogists, Cryptozoologists, etc etc....all of which are specific whereas a "Paranormal Investigator" is not specific, they investigate all...
Paranormal, meaning "outside the norm," is an umbrella term used to describe a wide variety of reported anomalous phenomena that cannot be explained by current scientific knowledge. Paranormal is a general term that describes unusual experiences that lack a scientific explanation, or phenomena alleged to be outside of science's current ability to explain or measure. The term is applied to UFOs, some creatures that fall under the scope of cryptozoology, purported phenomena surrounding the Bermuda Triangle, and other non-psychic subjects.

I believe new episodes of DT will be on in the fall. Late September or early October if memory serves me correctly.

By your definition I would be a PI...fledgling in the areas of ghost huntings (but with lots of experience living with the little brats), cryptozoology (fascinating, but I'm getting weary of Big Foot...I just need a change for a while), but fairly well grounded in UFOlogy. I'll also poke into anything else PN that catches my eye. Not witchcraft...I AM a witch, and that doesn't hold much mystery after being at it for 50+ years, but vampirism, psi abilities, angelic visitations...I enjoy pretty much all aspects of it, and love to learn.

Destination Truth is a pretty good show, But they are a bit crazy! They chased wild tigers around in the dark when they where looking for the yeti with no weapons available to them.

All I can say about this show is....... If you are sneaking about at night trying to surprise a monster, beast, mythological creature, ghost etc. by all means start yelling and screaming ....flailing your arms around as you run toward whatever it is you think you hear/see. That's one really effective method. This shows goes to areas of the world where they still shrink human heads and seriously interview the locals as to when they last saw the "dinosaur" walking through the woods! Some of these peoples have lived in near isolation from the modern world for centuries. Their culture has perpetuated stories and tall tales based on superstition and not one ounce of fact or credibility. Superstitous nonsense...yet DT treats it as if it is fact based. Come on.......
