heres a picture from sometime in 1990s of a "spirit" leaving the body- I recall seeing another one but cant find it I think this is a photo shop and not that "holy grail" picture that would settle this debate once and for all - interesting shot at any rate- too bad like all the other evidence its grainy www.ghostcircle.com/spiritphotos/KarinFischer.htm~ang That is an interesting photo but I think that the image is either an effect or over exposure of the film. By an effect I mean that the picture was most likely taken behind glass or plexiglass so it's reflecting either the camera flash or another light in the viewing room.

To me it looks like a picture of a drawing. What makes me believe this the way the shading is done on the objects in the foreground including the lights and gowns of the Doctors.

I'm a nurse too, but I work in an ICU. With an exception of 1 patient, all of the deaths I have witnessed have been either terminal weans (with drawl of life support) or people who had a terminal condition that was allowed to run its course. I haven't experienced anything like paranormalskeptic. What I have experienced is that regardless of the alarms being turned off, without fail, I stop what I am doing, go to the monitor bank to "check" on them and witness them going asystole or converting to pulseless electrical activity. I have stopped in the middle of eating, conversations, baths, dressing changes and charting. For some reason in this situation when I'm in my other patient's room I never use the monitor feature that allows me to pull up another patient's monitor information. This is the link to a nurses board and a particular thread about paranormal experiences. You will have to weed through some off-topic posts at first. Some are just ghost stories, but some are about experiences like paranormalskeptic described. allnurses.com/general-nursing-discussion/whats-your-best-108202-page2.html

As an artist and B&W photographer, I have to agree with this. This is a fascinating topic, my sister has witnessed 2 deaths where she says she saw the souls leaving the bodies. She describes what she saw as 'bright whitish/greenish balls of light' (her exact words). Unfortunately these were emotional times so naturally no one thought to have a camera at the ready (quite rightly too). I havent asked her for any more details such as size, was it floating out, did it have a 'tail' because as I just said these were emotional times. Although its been a while since those events now, so I might ask her for more information.

I have seen this. I was with my mother for end of life care and one night it was about 4-5 am I was sleeping in the room with her at home and I woke up to see this clear smoke over top of her in the bed. It was about a foot or two thick clear see thru smoke all over top of her bed the length of her bed , very thick but see thru and had a swirl to it, it was moving it appeared to be going to her mouth and the room was very cold. I did not know what this was and thought there was a fire in the house , I jumped so fast I fell to the floor getting up and ran to the other room i had been in earlier thinking I left a candle burning and it had caught fire. I flew to room only to see there was nothing burning. So I flew back to the other room thinking ohh no electrical fire , from a wallsocket they had a fire with before but again nothing and the thick scattered clear smoke was gone. It was such an odd smoke , you could see thru it and the room so cold and damp. She did not pass at that moment but looked it the next day she woke and she said to me I am dying as she was stage 4 lung cancer. A couple days later she passed. I dont know if i interupted it or not but i did fan over her as this was going in her mouth at a fast pace. My father had passed shortly before her and his ashes were also in this room in a brass box urn. I never heard of this until I spoke to a lady here she was one of the founders to our hospice and she explained to me what I saw. I have worked in palliative care in a nursing home as the director and had never seen this smoke but I know what I saw with her and there was alot of it. I do not know why she lived 2 more days.
