Has anyone ever captured on video or pictures the spirit leaving the body at the time of death?

Not that I am aware of, but science has proven that the body decreases in weight at the time of death by an ounce or two..

That is amazing tns! Back when I took psych 1001, our prof asked us what it was that tethered the mind to the body, and when synapse impulses become preferences and personality. The idea of a soul leaving a body is a very introspective question regardless of how you look at it.

The weight lost after death, if I'm not mistaken, is 28 grams. About the weight of a hummingbird, but still a measurable amount.

My family and I were all present for my mother’s passing in her apartment. At the instant of her passing, a flock of birds roosting for the night in a tree directly above her apartment were startled by something and flew away in a panic. I believe that there was some type of energy that the birds felt. Perhaps this energy leaving could account for the drop in weight..

I have read reports of people who witnessed the actual physical event of a soul leaving a body. I doubt, and really rather HOPE that it will never be caught on film. There is something very macabre about the idea of standing around a deathbed with a camera, hoping...

Not that I am aware of, but science has proven that the body decreases in weight at the time of death by an ounce or two.. The claims made by Dr. Duncan Macdougall back in 1907 were not reproducible by other scientists through experimentation. The claim that the body lost weight after death couldn't be scientifically proven. More about this at this link: www.snopes.com/religion/soulweight.asp

If the spirit is energy, my question is, does energy actually have weight? After the body dies, any waste remaining in the bowels sometimes gets pushed out. This could account for the loss of the weight. I'm only assuming this could be a reason since this sort of thing happened when my father and brother died. This is a good subject.

For me the question should be what form of energy are we talking about? The energy of pulling on something has no weight or mass. Light has no weight but it does have momentum but at the same time it can be attracted by gravity hence it might have weight or it is just following curved space time. A light photon has no resting mass. Electricity has some form of mass but it is very small. There are many debates on this subject. And I’m not going to go into that. For us in the paranormal filed the debate is still on whether the sprite, specter, ghost or phantom exist and is it in a form of energy that can be measured. I believe energy leaving the body would be un-measurable because of other factors that take place at the time of death. (Cell decay, gas release, Fluid evaporation, body excretions etc..) This is my humble opinion. I feel this page might help you understand energy. www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/phy05/phy05073.htm

In my opinion, I can't see how the biochemical energy that sustains us in life can continue after death plus also carry a "conciousness". As I stated in another thread here, I am in the minority when it comes down to EMF and it's testing for paranormal activity.

heres a picture from sometime in 1990s of a "spirit" leaving the body- I recall seeing another one but cant find it I think this is a photo shop and not that "holy grail" picture that would settle this debate once and for all - interesting shot at any rate- too bad like all the other evidence its grainy www.ghostcircle.com/spiritphotos/KarinFischer.htm~ang

Also wanted this I am a nurse that works in the hospice end of thing Ive been with far too many people at that final moment
a few times at the moment of death - lights have flickered, I've felt a breeze, or something in the room has knocked over
coincidence? I am not sure, things don't happen with every death, but a few times I couldn't help but think that you could "feel" that energy leave
would love to hear from others that work with the dying on a fairly regular basis as I do, and see if they too have had some of these things occur
