I love this show. Sucks it won't be on until towards the end of '09. Anyone else a fan?

I'm going to be honest, I've never heard of this one! I like most any paranormal show, though. I'll have to keep a lookout for it.

I've seen every episode, but pretty much to catch Chip Coffey. Luv that guy. PS is really hokey at times. I liked the old ones -- the ones now are like demons, demons, demons.

I have watched several episodes. They do some interesting things, but as Lisa mentioned, it's getting a bit demon oriented. I don't like the voice overs in the crackly radio voice tho lol.

I do watch the show, and I think that the team is both dedicated and serious about what they do. What I do NOT like is that they find demons in every corner. It seems to me that when one goes looking specifically for demons, one tends to find them. I admire Chip Coffy, but I have some problems with Lorraine Warren. I think that she is sincere, but...see sentence three. Worth watching. I got a bit tickled when their "resident Pagan" used a kabalistic (and therefore JudeoChristian) cleansing ritual, claiming that it was an old familty ritual. It might be, but it isn't Pagan. Nor did she bother to respond when I emailed offering to send her a strictly Pagan version of that ritual. Not even a "no thanks."

I love anything to do with the paranormal and this show is no different. I just question why everything seems to be so demon oriented with them. It's almost like they are the anti-Taps. It seems like they always go into a situation to try and prove a haunting instead of going in and trying to debunk a haunting.

I like watching all paranormal shows, to get different views. And as much as i love ryan and the team, sometimes it seems faked. Like the whole *i am six* kinda got annoying and just didnt seem real. Now when they go into do a *real* investigation then i feel im watching the old paranormal state! Chip is unusually accurate about too much (he creeps even me). I guess we will see what the new season brings, but i love to watch no matter =)

I agree that they tend to "demonize" everything and I am not a big fan of using psychics to investigate, but over all a good show. My question is: what happens to the show once they graduate from Penn St.

My question is: what happens to the show once they graduate from Penn St. The members of the PRS crew that we see on the show have all graduated. Last year Ryan Buell created a separate organization from the one he originally formed at Penn State back in 2001. Now there are two branches. In my opinion, Ryan may first question paranormal activity to be demonic due to his Catholic faith. Being Catholic myself, I understand why. I like the show because it accentuates on helping the client. I also watch GH but we hardly see private home investigations anymore so I rely on PS to see that.

I can't understand why everything has to be considered Demonic. I myself am Catholic too but I do understand the differences between Spirit and Demon. A pissed off Spirit doesn't instantly qualify it into Demon categorization. Technically a Demon in terms of Christianity is a spirit who followed Satan and were cast out of Heaven. These spirits never received a body and thus why they are so apt to possession so they can experience what it means to have a body. Also in non Christian terms, Demons are not all bad and are guardians of the earth. These are non human entities that perceive humans as a threat to the earth and thus the Demons try to lure them into their deaths. So in a sense they are still bad. But not every haunting is Demonic.

In Catholicism, the human spirit goes immediately to Judgement after death. It's not meant to stay behind and roam the earth amoung the living. The Church has never made an official announcement concerning ghosts and hauntings, but the Catechism of the Catholic Church does warn of demons. Ask any number of clergy about this subject and you will get a variety of answers. Just from my experience, most would say that there is a normal or psychological explanation for spirit activity. If no logical or psychological cause is present, demonic activity must be ruled out first (but not by a lay person). Some will say that spirit sightings are those that are in purgatorial purification and they appear to us in need of prayer.

I thought this was a thread for fans of Paranormal State, not critics of Paranormal state. That's why I started the other thread in this forum.

Has anyone heard about the new documentary "American Ghost Hunter"? It's a collaboration project created by Ryan and Chad. You can watch the trailer here: www.aghthemovie.com/I'm not sure if this will be available to view online or in theaters once it's completed. It will first premiere in October during the PRS event at the Stanley Hotel. This does look really good!
